San Marcos Unified School District

engaging students... inspiring futures

Melissa Hunt (middle) sits with two of our district's math teachers during a professional development training.
With nearly 30 years in education, Melissa Hunt began her career as an English and History teacher. After becoming an administrator in the greater Los Angeles area, she moved to San Diego to become the principal of Woodland Park Middle School from 2001 to 2006. San Marcos Unified "loaned" her to the San Diego County Office of Education to provide professional development for school leaders throughout the county.  She returned to the district in 2011 to become the principal of San Marcos Middle School.  Currently, as the Director of Secondary Education, Melissa works closely with administrators and teachers to ensure quality teaching and learning for all students.
