More Information on Transitional Kindergarten
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a program designed to give students time to acquire the necessary skills for kindergarten. The curriculum will address the new Common Core State Standards and the Preschool Standards for five year olds. Following a year in TK, your child will enroll in a regular kindergarten at their home school site.
February 6: TK registration packets are available at your home school
April 24: Deadline to return completed TK packets
June 1: Notification of placement at your school site
TK classes will be held 5 days a week for 3 1/2 hours a day (San Marcos Elementary & Alvin Dunn will have an extended day program)
Morning or afternoon sessions will be determined by the school site principals
We anticipate having 10 - 11 classes in the 2014-2015 school year - based on enrollment and space availability
