As an International Baccalaureate World School, La Mirada attracts many students therefore, the expansion to a K8 school created opportunity to allow students to further enhance their education by dynamic instruction through fine arts, additional language, and technology.  The Alvin Dunn  Elementary School was fully reconstructed and reopened as the New La Mirada Academy.

PROJECT SCOPE:

  • Conversion from Elementary to K-8 International Baccalaureate
  • Phase 1 (Building B): 14 classrooms
  • Phase 2 (Building A): Administration building/35 classrooms
  • Phase 3 (Building C): Multipurpose room/gym, kitchen, locker facilities, band facilities
  • Removal of all buildings/portables
  • New parking lot
  • Bus drop-off
  • Total square feet: 102,000

FINAL COST:

  • Final Cost: $17M
