Help Paying for Childcare - ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT PROGRAMS

YMCA Childcare Resource Service and Child Development Associates (CDA) provide financial assistance for childcare fees. Families work directly with these providers for tuition assistance. Kids on Campus (KOC) accepts subsidy payments from these agencies. Visit the agencies’ websites below for more information, including income eligibility and other requirements.

Military families may also receive assistance from Child Care Aware.

Employer Assisted Childcare
Some employers have plans that allow employees to earmark a portion of their paycheck into a special fund to use for child care. This money is not taxed and can only be used for child care costs. Talk to your human resource representative at your work to find out if this is an option for you.

FSA Cards
Kids on Campus is not able to accept FSA (Flexible Spending Account) debit cards for childcare payments. We recommend checking first with your provider to see if you can submit an invoice for reimbursement.

Convenience Fee Information
The Kids on Campus program will assess a 3% convenience fee on all credit/debit card transactions. Families making payment by cash or check will not incur this fee.

We strive to provide an affordable child care option for our SMUSD families. The fees we incur due to credit/debit card transactions are now passed on to those choosing this option rather than raising all fees to cover the expense.
