Our names are Cindi Herman and Vicki Brown, and we are honored and excited to be your La Costa Meadows PTO co-Presidents! We want to personally welcome all new and returning families. It is going to be a phenomenal year, and we know you will love your time here at LCM! There are so many outstanding resources and activities that are available to help expand our children’s learning and creativity, but many of them would not be possible without the overwhelming support of our Dolphin parents. In fact, research shows that when parents are involved in their children's education, the children are more likely to:
Together we can and do make a difference in the lives of our children!
- earn better grades.
- score higher on tests.
- pass their classes.
- attend school regularly.
- have better social skills.
- show improved behavior.
- be more positive in their attitude toward school.
- complete homework assignments.
- graduate and continue their education.
There are so many ways to get involved. You tell us what interests you, the time you have to give, and we will find a fun way for you to help! If we all do our part, we will have the resources necessary to continue all the outstanding academic and social programs that your PTO supports including:
music, science garden, technology, reading intervention, art, ongoing teacher/staff training, assemblies, and many more.
If you have any suggestions, concerns, or want to share something great we would love to hear from you! You can reach us at
This is my second year serving on the PTO, and I am excited to be your co-President for the upcoming school year! I have been married to my wonderful husband, Brian, for 19 years, and we have an amazing son, Logan, who will be entering the 2nd grade.
We moved here in 2015 from northern California, and we didn't know anyone. One of the first things I did was attend a PTO meeting. I knew it would be a great way to learn all about LCM, be involved in decisions that impact my son's education, and meet some fun and caring parents. I have never regretted that decision! Our school spirit or “Dolphin Way”, makes LCM an exceptional school, and one our family is so happy to be a part of.
I am proud to be a Dolphin parent, and I look forward to working together to create the best possible school experience for our children, our teachers, our administration, and our community. Whether you are a new or returning family, I encourage you to come and check out what the PTO is all about!
Cindi Herman, PTO Co-President
My name is Cindi Herman and I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to be the LCM PTO co-President with Vicki. This will be my 6th year on the LCM PTO and 10th year at LCM. I am also a room parent, LCM substitute teacher, one of the LCM Yearbook Coordinators, a credentialed teacher with a Masters Degree in Education, and a mom of 3 kids. I met my best friend/husband in 1st grade and together we have 3 kids and own a private dental practice in the Tri-City Medical Center. My daughter Hayli is 20 (Junior SDSU), Alyssa 12 (7th at San Elijo Middle), and Caden 9 (3rd grade at LCM). When I am not working at school or volunteering (which is usually only on weekends), I love to spend time with my family, love watching my kids play their sports, and love to be outside enjoying our gorgeous Carlsbad weather.
I believe it is important to live life each day to the fullest, enjoy each moment with our children for they grow up so fast, and there is nothing better in the world then see our children smile and be happy.
Let’s make this a fun and special year for our children.
