•  Meet the Teacher

Hi! My name is Miss Smith and I am SO excited to be part of the transitional kindergarten/kindergarten team!  More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher!  It is going to be a fun year full of learning and adventures!  I want to know all about you, but first I am going to tell you a few things about me:

I was born in Albany, Georgia, but raised in Oceanside, CA.  I have one older brother, two nieces and one nephew.  When I graduated high school, I went to California State University San Marcos.  I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a specialty field in child development in 2004 and my teaching credential in 2005.  I have worked for SMUSD since 2005. I have taught second grade for five years and third grade for three years.  This will be my second year teaching transitional kindergarten.  I love teaching transitional kindergarten because it is so rewarding to see all of the growth each of you will make this year!

I currently live in Encinitas and have a three year old labrador named Avri.  When I'm not at school, I love to be at the beach, spend time with family, or go on random hikes or road trips.

I am so excited to be your teacher for your VERY first year of school ... it is going to truly be an AMAZING year!  I look forward to seeing your smiling faces every single day!
