I am the Physical Education Teacher here at Paloma Elementary School. I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology. I earned teaching credentials in Physical Education, Health, Life Science, and Home Economics and a Masters Degree in Education from Alliant University. I am currently working on my Doctorate Degree in Health Science. I began teaching Biology and Physical Education in 1998 at Escondido Charter High School. I resigned from there to be the Athletic Director and Head Physical Education Teacher of Old Mission Montessori School. I left that position and after 6 years off I went back to work and began teaching at Paloma Elementary for the 2015-2016 school year.

To give you background on my personal life I grew up in a family of boys fishing and riding dirt bikes. I was a ballerina for most of my life competing soccer, cross country, and track in high school. I am the married mother of two teenagers whom I adore, I live in Oceanside, and we spend our family time hiking and at the beach. We love to spend time in LA with close friends and we are a family of Foodies! We love our coffee and we love our fun, gourmet foods.

I am VERY proud of the Physical Education program at Paloma. The other Elementary Physical Education teachers in the SMUSD and I spent hours upon hours creating a uniform District Curriculum and Assessments for the students. We have a very set routine in Physical Education class. My students are very clear of what they are do from when they enter the field until they leave the field. Each student has a "job" to accomplish while they are in class. EVERY student has clear understanding that my expectation is that they are polite listeners, follow direction, are kind and encouraging to all classmates while they give effort, and ALWAYS give 100% effort in class. My students are at all different skill and fitness levels and know that I applaud best effort. I am so proud of their effort, their improvement, and get a huge sense of satisfaction from the joy they exude in class.

I feel very blessed to be apart of Paloma. The Administration is very inspiring and their top priority is your student's learning and safety. The office staff is very knowledgeable and helpful to everyone.  The teachers at this school are a very dedicated and fun group who work very hard to not only teach your student, but also make them love learning. Lastly, the students at Paloma are hard working and loving. It is an amazing atmosphere I am so proud to be a part of.
