Degrees and Certifications:
I am originally from San Diego and am happy to be back in the area teaching at SMHS! I earned my BA in English and Art History at Mills College in Oakland, California and I earned my MA at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. I earned my Single Subject Teaching Credential from California State University San Marcos. I love reading and value the opportunity to retreat into a great book.
Soccer was an integral part of my youth, and I played for nine years in youth, club, and collegiate soccer before I was forced to quit due to injuries. I still enjoy a fun recreation game periodically. During my academic career, I had the priviledge of traveling to fifteen different countries. These experiences inspired a greater appreciation for diversity and instilled a global perspecitive, which I strive to incorporate into my classroom.
