Intradistrict transfer applications are now available for the 2024-25 school year. Students who currently live within our district boundaries and wish to attend a school other than their school of residence are eligible to apply. Intradistrict transfer requests will be accepted through March 31, 2024.

Interdistrict Transfer Requests NOW OPEN
The SMUSD transfer window remains open for Interdistrict transfer requests which are for students who live outside of the district boundaries, but wish to attend one of our award-winning schools. This includes incoming siblings of current students*.
Interdistrict transfer request forms can be found on the San Marcos Unified School District website.
Please keep in mind that a request made is not a guarantee your student will be able to attend that school. Given the fluctuation of enrollment at individual school sites, communication regarding transfer decisions may continue throughout the summer. We thank you in advance for your patience.
New & Current Student Enrollment Dates:
- NEW student enrollment opens on February 1, 2024
- CURRENT student residency verification opens on June 5, 2024-June 30, 2024

*For families who have an incoming transitional kindergarten, kindergarten or new student, please submit a transfer during the open window, even if your child is not yet enrolled. When new student enrollment opens on February 1st, parents will need to enroll their student in their school of residence before the district office will consider the transfer.
