Paulina Tamayo, Homeless Assistance Counselor, was recently announced as a winner of the 2022-23 FAFSA/CADAA Challenge for Students Experiencing Homelessness Challenge.

The California FAFSA/CADAA Challenge for Students Experiencing Homelessness, led by John Burton Advocates for Youth (JBAY) in partnership with SchoolHouse Connection, the California Department of Education (CDE), and the California Student Aid Commission, is a statewide campaign to increase the number of homeless students who are prepared for success as they matriculate from high school into college by ensuring that they are accessing financial aid.

Paulina has successfully helped nearly 84 percent of high school seniors experiencing homelessness in SMUSD, complete their FAFSA or CADAA and are one step closer to reaching their higher education goals. Thank you, Paulina!
