CA parent and youth helpline 855-427-2736In partnership with Gov. Newsom, Parents Anonymous®Inc. recently launched the California Parent and Youth Helpline and the online Parents Anonymous® support groups in response to the stress and anxiety families are experiencing during the coronavirus pandemic.

These free resources aim to provide trauma-informed, evidenced-based emotional support to parents, children, and youth in any language.
  • Helpline - Parents and youth can call or text the helpline at 855-427-2736, live chat on the website, or email info@caparentyouthhelpline.org to get in touch with a person seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Parents Anonymous® Support Group - Parents can sign up to join a weekly online support group at any moment through the program website. In this confidential setting, parents can address their underlying emotions and build resiliency to strengthen their family.


"Parenting in a Pandemic" - Virtual Workshop Series


Our district school social workers are offering a Virtual Workshop Series, “Parenting in a Pandemic” for all SMUSD families.  Each pre-recorded video will include valuable information for families on various aspects of supporting students' mental health and well-being.  Supplemental resources are also included and all information is provided in both English and Spanish.

Suicide Awareness

Learning that a loved one is feeling depressed or having suicidal thoughts can be frightening and overwhelming. The topic of suicide may be difficult to bring up with your loved one.

Recognizing the warning signs is an important first step in suicide prevention. Increasing our knowledge can help us feel more comfortable starting the conversation, providing opportunities for our loved one to share their concerns, and to help them get support.
