Correct Level of Difficulty


Definition:

A process of using a task analysis as the basis for a 
pre-assessment, allowing teacher to choose 
objective(s) for beginning the instruction at a level at 
which all students may experience progress in learning.

  • Formulate terminal objective.

  • Do task analysis.

  • Design pre-assessment.

  • Interpret pre-assessment data.

  • Decide where to begin teaching.


Sub-Objective 2:

Teaches to the Objective

Definition:

There are four teacher actions a teacher might choose to use:

  • Generate relevant information (providing input that exactly matches the sub-objective(s)

  • Generate relevant activities

  • Generate relevant questions

  • Generate relevant responses to student efforts (responses made by teacher after student has tried a task)
