Here Comes the Bus - Bus/Student GPS Tracking

The San Marcos Unified School District is proud to offer our parents the ability to track their student's school buses.  This new service is still new to us, but you can visit the Click here. website to set it up.

How it works

GPS (Global Positing System) trackers are now standard on most school buses. Here Comes the Bus translates that information into an easy-to-follow program and customizable map that works on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. The map lets you see where the bus is and how close it is to your bus stop.
 

Instructions

1.  Download the Here Comes The Bus App or visit Click here.
2.  Click the "Sign Up" button
3.  Enter district code 87653 and click "Next" and "Confirm."
4.  Complete the "User Profile" box
5.  Under "My Students," click "Add."  Enter your child's last name and student ID number.
6.  Click to confirm you are registering for our school district.
7.  Complete the registration by clicking "Activate My Account" in the verification email.

Q. What is Here Comes the Bus & why might I need it?
A.  Here Comes The Bus is an easy-to-use website and app that enables you to see the location of your child's school bus on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer.  You know when the bus is near your stop.

Q.  How does it work?
A.  Here Comes The Bus uses global positioning system (GPS) technology to locate and track your child's school bus. It is powered by software from Synovia Solutions, experts at tracking data. They've been providing this service to fleet managers across North America since 2001.

Q.  What are the differences between the mobile app & the website?
A.  The primary difference is how you access the data.  The look and feel are different on a mobile device for better on-the-go use.

Q.  Is the information private and secure?
A.  Here Comes The Bus uses HTTPS, just like a bank or online store. This means that all communications between your web browser and the site are encrypted and secure.

Q.  How much does it cost?
A.  Here Comes the Bus is free to all families in any school district that has purchased the service.  That's right; it's free for families to have unlimited accounts!  That means grandparents, babysitters, neighbors, and friends can share the data.

Q.  Do I need separate accounts for each of my children?  Or separate accounts if we all want to be notified separately?
A.   You and your children can access all the information about the buses you need using just one Here Comes the Bus account.
