Project Next
Project Next empowers San Marcos Unified high school students to explore, plan, and prepare for the future that’s right for them.
Project Next Future Centers are located on every SMUSD high school campus and are staffed by full-time Project Next Career Coaches. These coaches work alongside our school counseling teams to expand access to career exploration, postsecondary planning, and real-world skill development for all students.
Through individualized support and engaging programs, Project Next helps students identify and develop their interests and strengths, explore aligned career pathways, build financial literacy, prepare for college and careers, and strengthen essential life skills. All students have access to one-on-one coaching, ensuring equitable support and eliminating barriers to participation.
By graduation, students are equipped with resumes, mock interview experience, money management skills, and a clear understanding of their goals, interests, and next steps, preparing them to thrive in college, career, and beyond. Visit Project Next’s website to learn more or follow them on social media for updates.
