Extended School Services (ESS)

The San Marcos Unified School District is now taking applications for the 2026-2027 Expanded School Services (ESS) programs. These programs provide after-school support and enrichment services up to 6:00 PM at selected school sites for qualified students in grades Transitional-Kindergarten through 8th grade.

ESS programs are free for qualifying students only. A student may qualify for ESS based upon the following criteria:

• The student is currently identified as an English language learner.
• The student is identified as a foster youth.
• The student qualifies based upon the results of the family’s Household Income Survey, completed during registration.

Program Components:

• Educational and literacy support    
• Physical and athletic activities
• A safe and positive learning environment
• Enrichment programs and activities
• Nutritious snacks
