Thank you for your interest in the Independent Study Physical Education (ISPE) program.

We support and appreciate after-school activities and encourage students to participate in them. For the most part, however, outside sports do not replace our regular physical education class, which follows the K-12 California State Standards in Physical Education. Our program offers an introduction to diverse sporting activities within a cooperative environment, and we strongly encourage student participation in the on-campus physical education program at our middle and high schools.

Please download and complete the ISPE application form and return it, along with all accompanying documents, to ryan.archer@smusd.org before December 5, 2025.
