Sexual Health Education

Sexual Health Education

As part of our commitment to providing students with accurate, age-appropriate health education, sixth-, eighth-, and ninth-grade students will participate in health instruction aligned with the California Healthy Youth Act (Education Code sections 51930–51939).

San Marcos Unified is committed to partnering with families to support students’ overall well-being and development. This webpage is designed to provide clear, transparent information about upcoming instruction, including what will be taught, how it supports student health and safety, and the rights families have to review materials and make informed decisions.

We recognize that health and human development topics are personal and value the important role families play in these conversations. Our goal is to ensure families have access to the information and resources needed to feel informed, supported, and engaged.

Grade-Level Instructional Materials & Resources

Families can explore grade-level folders below to review instructional materials for sexual health education. Each folder includes an overview of topics, sample lessons, and supporting resources to provide a clear understanding of what students will learn at each stage. We encourage families to review these materials in advance and reach out with any questions.
