Fleet Maintenance and Vehicle Repair Center 2.0

Fleet Maintenance & Vehicle Repair Facility

The San Marcos Unified School District operates a modern, fully equipped Vehicle Repair Facility dedicated to keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. Under the leadership of Lead Mechanic Miguel Trujillo, the facility maintains 94 school buses—including 35 electric buses—to meet the strict standards of the California Highway Patrol’s semi-annual inspections.

Beyond our school bus fleet, the facility supports more than 150 district vehicles, including service vans, trucks, refrigerated delivery vehicles, and administrative sedans. These vehicles serve multiple departments, such as Maintenance & Operations, Grounds, Child Nutrition Services, Facilities, Technology, and the Warehouse. Our team also maintains over 75 pieces of grounds equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and utility carts.

Our in-house team handles everything from small engine repairs to tire services and towing coordination, along with managing vehicle accident repairs and documentation. By operating our own facility with highly skilled mechanics, we ensure faster turnaround times, reduce vehicle downtime, and save the district money.
