Project Next

The 'NXT Project Next' logo features green text and an upward-pointing arrow. Project Next helps high school students plan and prepare for their future - the future that’s best for them.

Project Next Future Centers are located on all SMUSD high school campuses. They are staffed by full-time Project Next Career Coaches who work with all high school students, adding value to the work of our amazing school counseling teams.

Project Next’s Career Coaches provide programs and resources that help students discover
and cultivate their interests and strengths, connect to compatible career paths, develop
financial literacy skills, prepare for college and career, and build life skills. All students can
access 1:1 support, ensuring no student is excluded from this critical training due to access
barriers.

Students graduate from college and are career-ready with resumes in hand, mock interview
experience, money management skills, and an understanding of their interests and strengths.
