Career Technical Education (CTE)

Welcome to Career Technical Education (CTE)

What is CTE?

CTE classes prepare students for a wide-variety of in-demand careers, STEM focused occupations or c
ollege-level classes with both technical and academic skills that will help them to adapt as industry needs and their fields change.

CTE courses give students more options after they graduate, even allowing them to potentially enter into careers with living wages that would support themselves or a family.

In San Marcos, students are currently being trained for a wide-variety of future careers from engineering, computer science, public safety, graphic design, and more.  Students that take CTE courses are better prepared for the world of work as well as college, in fact, the high school graduation rate for CTE Career Pathway students is 90% - 15 percentage points higher than the national average.
